Sick Morning Walk-In Session
We offer a sick walk-in session from 8:00 - 9:00 am every day. Patients with simple problems such as ear pain, sore throat or cold can be seen at this time quickly so parents can decide what to do for the day. Children with more complicated problems will need longer appointments and sometimes will have to be rescheduled.
Hours & Appointments
Our office is open Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm. On Wednesday's we close at 12:00pm. We start answering phones at 8:00am and we are closed daily for lunch from 12:00 to 1:00pm. We ask that you arrive on time for appointments and to please call if you anticipate that you will be late. Every effort is made to see patients in a timely manner, however, experience has taught us that unexpected needs arise that require our immediate attention so wait times may be a little longer. All efforts will be made to keep parents informed. If an extended wait will be an inconvenience, please speak with our staff and we will reschedule your child's appointment if needed. Your patience and understanding is very much appreciated.
After Hours, Weekends & Holidays
We realize that your child may become suddenly sick and you may need us after hours. Our Pediatric Nurse Practitioner can be reached anytime after hours at (336) 698-6999. Depending on your child's needs, Ms. Sheila will offer phone advice or meet you in the office. Use of this system should be reserved for urgent medical needs only. Routine questions should be directed to regular office hours. We also recommend using Mt. Family Care Center if you are unable to reach Ms. Sheila and your child needs to be seen after hours or during holidays.
Prescription Refills
Please call between 8:00am and 4:00pm so that we may have your child's chart available and be certain that a refill is the best course of treatment. You should leave your child's name, date of birth, drug name and strength, and the name and city of the pharmacy that you would like us to call it into. For ADHD medication, please call at least two (2) days before the medication runs out so that we have plenty of time to get the prescription ready.
